Berger Floor is an internal production-logging application for employees of Berger US, Inc. and its affiliates. It is not intended for, or directed at, the general public.
Who is who. The app is published on the App Store by Joseph Brandon Rowland, an independent developer, under an authorization from Berger US, Inc. This policy is published by Elite Holdings, LLC, of which Joseph Brandon Rowland is President and a principal owner; Elite Holdings, LLC does not operate the app and receives no data from it.
Berger US, Inc. is the controller of all production records entered through the app. The server the app connects to is operated by Berger US, and requests about that data should be directed to Berger US using the contact details at the end of this policy.
What the app sends to your employer's server
When you sign in, the app sends the username and the password or PIN you enter to your employer's Berger server, in order to authenticate you.
While you work, the production records you enter are sent to and stored on that same server: roll logs, skid and coil readings, scrap counts, first-piece inspection results and the initials you sign them with, and product tags. These are records of work, kept by your employer as part of its manufacturing and quality documentation.
What the app stores on the device
In the iOS keychain:
- an authentication token, which proves you are signed in
In ordinary application storage:
- your user id, username, facility, assigned printer and permissions
- your username, remembered so you do not have to retype it each shift
- the address of your employer's server, and the device's API key
Signing out deletes the authentication token and the session from the device.
What the app does not do
- It contains no advertising and no advertising identifier.
- It contains no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting service of any kind.
- It does not track you across other apps or websites.
- It does not collect location, contacts, photographs, calendars, microphone, camera or health data.
- It does not sell, rent or share your information with any third party.
Demonstration mode
The app includes a demonstration mode, enabled by entering demo as the server address in Settings. In this mode the app runs entirely on sample data held on the device and makes no network connections at all — no server is contacted and nothing whatsoever is transmitted. It exists for training and evaluation.
How long the data is kept
Production records are held on your employer's server and are governed by your employer's own retention policy, not by this application. The information the app stores on the device remains there until you sign out or the app is removed.
Your choices
The app is used as part of your work, and the records it creates are your employer's business records. To ask what is held about you, to correct it, or to ask about deletion, contact Berger US using the details below. If you are asked to sign in and do not wish to, the app cannot be used — there is no anonymous mode other than the demonstration mode described above, which records nothing.
Children
The app is a workplace tool. It is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
Any change will be published at this address, with a revised "last updated" date at the top.
